Broadband Guides

Use these introductory guides to work out what matters for your household. Speeds and availability vary by address and provider.

Full fibre

Fibre to the premises (FTTP) can provide fast broadband, but not every street is covered. Always check availability with the provider.

Gaming

Alongside download speed, look at latency, network reliability, upload performance and wired connectivity.

Streaming

Think about the number of simultaneous streams, Wi-Fi strength throughout your home and other online activity.

Working from home

Video meetings, uploads and reliable Wi-Fi can matter as much as advertised peak download speeds.

Before signing a contract

Check the full monthly and upfront cost, contract length, mid-contract price changes, setup fees, router provision and any early exit fees directly with the provider.
